With our brand Heat Shield® MSC Polymer offers a range of new products of
High temperature release films and press pads
especially developed for lamination temperatures > 300° C. In response to progressively faster component cycle times new flexible laminates and bond plies have been developed by DuPont, in which PTFE is being used as adhesive which requires significantly higher lamination temperatures. Until now no suitable laminating aids were available (or just provisory solutions) to withstand the required high temperatures. Primarily MSC developed and patented these new auxiliaries to enable its customers to process DuPont’s latest high-tech flexible laminates. However Heat Shield® release films and press pads are considered as the ideal solution for plenty of challenges like laminating LCD products and multilayers made of Polyimide, PTFE and other resin systems, which require very high lamination temperatures.
Release film HPI-100
HPI-100 is a release film specially developed for high temperature applications. It is based on a polyimide film with certain anti-adhesive properties, which are not achieved by conventional coating. Instead there is a special process applied, which modifies the surface of the film and forms a very thin (<< 1 µm) anti-adhesive layer. HPI-100 is of course free of silicone and other volatiles. It does not contaminate the surface of products/materials, which are in contact with the film.
Temperature: up to 350 °C
Color: yellow
Thickness: 25 µm

Release film HTR-25
HTR-25 is a release film specially developed for high temperature applications. Temperature stability up to 315 °C. The film is based on a fluoropolymer film with certain anti-adhesive properties. This guarantees good release properties and compatibility with most resin systems. Moreover the film offers high elongation and good conformability. After resin cure the film provides a smooth surface. HTR-25 is of course free of silicone and other volatiles. It does not contaminate the surface of products/materials, which are in contact with the film.

Color: blue
Thickness: 25 µm

Press pad Thermo-H40
Thermo-H40 is a special press pad for pressing materials, which require a very high pressing temperature and a long pressing time. Thermo-H40 works very well under these extreme conditions, because of the special material composition. Thermo-H40 consists of aramid fibers with certain inorganic filling materials. All is kept together by a special high temperature resistant binder. Thermo-H40 is of course free of silicone and other volatiles. It has a homogeneous and flat surface. Therefore it does not release any particles and it does not leave any residues on press plates.
Temperature: up to 300 °C
Color: grey
Thickness: 0.86 mm
